AREA AGENCY ON AGING & ADULT SERVICES
In north central Idaho, Area II Agency on Aging is designed to help older Americans remain as independent as possible while making their lives more meaningful and productive. We offer access to programs and services to individuals age 60 and over.
Durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, bath benches, canes and walkers are loaned to senior citizens through our "Loan Closet." Donations of medical equipment are always welcome.
Allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation and abandonment of vulnerable adults, 18 years of age and older are investigated. Our Ombudsman services investigates and resolves complaints on behalf of residents or visitors of nursing homes or residential care facilities who have concerns regarding care.
The Medicine Program helps people apply for enrollment in one or more patient assistance programs.

CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Child Care Solutions Resource & Referral is available at any north central Idaho Community Action Partnership for child care referrals and educational materials. Child care options are also available for homeless parents and parents in crisis. Community Action Partnership can assist parents and child care providers with up-to-date information about early childhood development. Mobile learning vans provide on-site training and loaned equipment for early childhood programs.
Care for Kids Child Care Learning Lab serves as an example of excellence in child care facilities. Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne selected our learning lab as a "Promising Practice Program" for our observational training site and small business incubation model. We provide care for all children--birth to 5 years--including those children with special needs.
The AmeriCorps program assists Community Action Partnership with individuals age 17 and older who serve America for one year.

COMMUNITY SERVICES
Our Outreach and Assistance program provides services, information and referrals that individuals and families can use to improve their lives. We help people meet basic needs, including assistance with food, shelter and/or housing, heat transportation and health care. Opportunities are available for people of all ages to learn new skills, maximize their potential and develop goals toward greater self-sufficiency.
Some of our programs include distributing school supplies to students, receiving and distributing food, and connecting families and businesses during the holiday season.
We rely on a strong network of community partners, volunteers, service providers, churches, local businesses and government offices to help people and change lives.
Outreach and Assistance program staff are available in every community throughout Community Action Partnership's eleven county service area to insure you can access us where you live and work.

HOUSING
Housing Counseling & First Time Home-Buyer Education provides information to people with housing needs and problems including foreclosure prevention, landlord/tenant mediation, repairs and home equity conversion mortgages. Home-Buyer Education and Housing Counseling are free of charge and no income limits apply. Housing Development and Management advocates for affordable housing needs of low-income residents. Information is available to developers, social service providers and public entities interested in affordable housing needs and opportunities. We have developed and manage forty units of affordable rental housing in Lewiston and Genesee. Call us for applications.
WEATHERIZATION & MINOR HOME REPAIR
Renters and home-owners, including mobile home residents, are eligible to receive assistance with insulation and venting, air infiltration and heating system repair. Repair work is professionally done by our crews or additional contractors.
